What can ArtsMatrix do to help your creative business or career?
One visual artist from Wimborne recently said “I feel like I’ve been liberated!”, after discussing the possibilities of taking a new direction in her artwork with an ArtsMatrix advisor. And she’s not the only one…
ArtsMatrix has helped just under 2,200 creative individuals in the South West and is keen to help more. The professional skills & enterprise development agency for the arts and creative industries for the South West is providing half hour taster sessions in each county over the next couple of months.
Keturah Holmes from ArtsMatrix in Dorset said “I’m looking forward to meeting creative people who aren’t sure how ArtsMatrix can help their creative business or career and haven’t used our services before. As well as being able to offer instant ‘bite size’ advice in the taster sessions.”
The service isn’t just limited to visual artists, it includes all designers, makers, writers, musicians, performing artists, arts teachers, arts managers etc. Topics that often crop up with creative people in Dorset are; focusing on what their goals really are, reviewing their work / life balance, improving their marketing skills, finding relevant contacts/information, and generally understanding how to run a creative business.
Weymouth College are supporting ArtMatrix by offering the use of the Mulberry Centre in Weymouth, a fantastic informal venue space on Tuesday 16 December 2008. If you’re based in Dorset and would like to book a free half hour slot for this day please contact Keturah Holmes on 01202 853642 or email dorset@artsmatrix.org.uk stating your name, contact number and briefly what you would like to discuss in the session.
