I aim to create an environment that invites enthusiasm and exuberance, creating a child like joy where people can be free with few inhibitions, yet sincerity remains. The work tends to have a limited life span due to the materials used, such as food products. The art is impermanent and can be altered with the intervention of the viewer. The works are placed to encourage accessibility and alter the perception of space.
Modification over time and the transformation of the art plays a fundamental role. The viewers response is crucial. The food permits an encouraging disturbance allowing a play on interaction. The installations take into account the viewers entire sensory experience, allowing expression and freedom.
The concept of the work is as imperative as the final result. The accumulating of ideas and the making process drives the work forward giving it structure and an overall aim. The process, concept and the spectators response are primarily the most crucial elements within my practice.
