Hi Chris,
I've really enjoyed my time at Bournemouth, although part time is a bit of a slog as i've just completed my 4th year and onto my final 5th - but still wouldn't have missed it for the world. yes! I'm hoping to do the london show - want to stay down there for the duration but I've heard decent accomodation is difficult to find, what did you think? As for my dissertation - it seems never ending - It focusses on the use of hair in artwork - am off to the Venice Biennale soon, and will get the opportunity to see Mona Hatoums Hair work - Amazing. Can't wait.
At the moment I'm involved in two very different exhibitions - one about Tea and the other related to Darwin, Two mature students are currating the Darwin one - Called Fools experiments - it's a two part exhibition - the 1st now showing at bournemouth library gallery until 5th Sept and the 2nd part at the Science society, Bournemouth 24th Aug until 5th sept - private view for the latter is tues 25th Aug 6.30 - 8.30pm so if you and any friends would like to attend let me know. All details are on my web site - www.juliemccabe.co.uk

Hi Christopher,
I'm a mature part-time fine art student at the Arts Institute, just approaching my final year - Saw your work at degree show - I felt so much anticipation looking at your installation - just waiting for the top layers of paper to blow away -everyone around me desparate to know were they glued together? Hope your final grade reflected your excellent work.
regards

Hi Chris,
Your work looks great, really interesting - love the effect of scale and lighting. Do you ever see Kit and Sally at Bournemouth? Can't remember if they taught you at Weymouth. Anyway I wish you all the best for your final show, hope it goes well.

About Me / Artist's Statement:
My work often aims to evoke feelings of the poetic and sentimental, yet with a final outcome which may be quite subtle in size. I like to create a tension between the scale of a sculpted object and the way in which it is presented: for example an object that is fairly miniature in substance may be lit very theatrically, or a landscape may be fairly large (and epic) in scale, but what it actually contains might be very minimal and bleak.

I am currently studying Fine Art at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth, I am in my final year.
